Installing the frames

Bottom longitudinal stringers

Bottom longitudinals

One more silly mistake I made when I welded bottom longitudinal stringers perpendicular to the bottom! Since the bottom is kind of a v-shape, then one may ask about how I planned to install the frames. Each frame has a vertical cut for the bottom stringers, so they ought to be vertical and not perpendicular! Well, thanks Bruce I had only tack welded them. Using a sledgehammer, I was able to either bend them or knock them off.

Frames

I had finished assembling the frames last year. They waited the entire winter to be installed.

One by one all ten frames were raised and welded in place to the bottom plates.

Stringers had also come with the kit. They had marks as well. After I had sorted them in my garage, it was just a matter of time to install them. I used my car jack to push or pull frames to align the marks with the cuts on the frames.

This is the picture of three bulkheads and ten frames put in place and ready to accept the hull plates.

Another view from the bow. Looks great! She's going to be beautiful.
