Postmortem

Three years later...

I began this sailboat building in 2005. Now, three years later it is over. The Bruce Roberts Voyager 388 hull is sold, almost finished.

You may ask why. Well, as people say without going into the details "due to personal matters". Still want to know the reasons? Hm... email me.

Was it a good project? Yes. Did I learn some stuff? Sure. Do I regret of not being able to finish the boat? To some extent.

Are you thinking of building a sailboat yourself? Need an advice? If yes, then it depends on your goal.

Do you want to go sailing soon? Then do not do it. Buy a used boat if you are on a budget, fix it and sail away. You will achieve what you want much faster and more economically this way.

What is your dream boat? Is it new, very strong, bright and shiny? Do you have enough money, time and stamina? Are you young and can afford spending a few years working part time on your project? Would you enjoy building your boat with your hands and being proud of the result? By all means, do it!

The boat, Arcadia, well, the hull in fact, is sold. What’s next? Beruta - Hallberg Rassy 31 Monsun
